Minutes:

Brian Pitts, Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M The Chair asked for public comments. There was none. In the absence of a Registrar Brian Pitts called the roll.

Greg Pound arrived late making it a Quorum. Calvester Anderson requested that the last month’s minutes of October 22, 2009 be read. Cathy Corry read them. The minutes were accepted as read, with some technical corrections made by Corry.

Chair reported that printed agenda’s would be E-Mailed to each member prior to the meeting. Secretary Estes’ report included a thank you to David Plyer for his assistance in writing the last month’s minutes.

Vice Chairman Greg Pound will present his report during the announcement time.

Dave Plyer moved that the Pinellas County juvenile Council adopt the following five (5) dates for its 2010 public meetings,

Thursday, January 14, 2010
Thursday, April 8, 2010
Thursday, July 8th 2010
Thursday, September 9th 2010 [Election of Council officers]
Thursday, October 4, 2010 [Appoint C6JJB members]

And that these meetings shall occur at the Seminole Community Library (St, Pete College, Seminole Campus), 9200 113 Street North, Seminole, FL 33772

Once the motion was seconded, Anderson asked that it be amended to change “shall” to “may”. The motion as amended was approved unanimously, Also, on Oct. 10th the appointment terms of Janet Clark and Keith Estes will run out for the PCJJB.

The website was discussed and David Plyer has been paying for it. He announced that he may be able to get it for $22.00 per year instead of the $18.00 per month.

Former Chair Corry transferred eight boxes and two folders of records to Brian Pitts as required by Article X11. They were accepted by Chairman Pitts.

Cathy Corry read the report from the 11-19-09 St. Pete Times about DJJ Secretary Frank Peterman’s fiasco on money’s spent on excessive air fare. The Governor Crist is looking into the matter. It was noted that Mr. Peterman never attended a PCJJC meeting.
