Juvenile Justice Council Call to Order Chair Dave Plyer called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Public Comment None. The meeting roster follows: ACTIVE VOTING MEMBERS:

Roll call was taken and a quorum was present. In the absence of a Secretary, meeting minutes were taken by Membership Registrar Cathy Corry. Approval of Minutes Reading of the June 28, 2007 meeting minutes was waived, without objection. Meeting minutes were approved as submitted. Report from the Chair Chair Dave Plyer provided a brief review of the following topics:
Chair asked the Council for permission to contact the Governor’s Inspector General to request review of the 2007-08 delinquency prevention grant process in Pinellas County. There was no objection.
The Chair report was submitted for the record. Chair announced next Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Seminole Community Library. New Business Nomination Committee Chair Dave Plyer appointed Bruce Wright as Nomination Committee Chair. Nominations will be accepted for:
Bruce Wright will send an email to all Council members explaining the nomination process. Annual Calendar Bruce Wright moved, seconded by Dennis Segall, that the calendar development be postponed until after the Council officer elections. Motion passed by majority vote. Greg Pound suggested that the December 27, 2007 council meeting be a seasonal celebration and said he will provide more information at a future meeting. Proposed legislation for administrative funding Brian Pitts provided an overview of administrative funding needs by the juvenile justice county councils and circuit boards. Brian Pitts will pursue getting more information about legislative budget provisions to statute-mandated entities. Council Member Announcements Cathy Corry distributed a compilation prepared 7/18/07 by Carlos Martinez, Circuit 13 Assistant Public Defender, titled JUVENILE JUSTICE CPR (Charting a Path to Redemption), Draft Reform Recommendations as submitted to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Blueprint Commission, of which Martinez is one of the 25 Blueprint Commission members.
