04/24/07 Correspondence between DJJ Davison and Plyer: DJJ’s legal advice to C6JJB?

Rick Davison -----Original Message----- Rick Davison The draft minutes of the Circuit 6 Juvenile Justice Board meeting of January 22, 2007 states: "Immediately following the call to order, there was significant confusion and disagreement among members of the Pinellas Council and Board Members. There was no consensus and as such, Paul McClintock motioned that the meeting be adjourned until such time as Department of Juvenile Justice legal can provide clarification of issues." The minutes continue: "The Board is waiting for clarification from Tallahassee as to how to proceed." As a member of the Board, please tell me what clarification has DJJ legal provided to the Board in the three months since that meeting. CIRCUIT 6 DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE JUSTICE BOARD MEETING Attendees: There were several other persons in attendance from the Pinellas Council whose names do not appear on the sign-in sheet. Only those persons that signed in have been noted. Agenda Content I. Welcome & Call to Order Chairman, Calvin Harris, called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm, at the Pinellas County Court House, 315 Court Street in Clearwater, Florida. Immediately following the call to order, there was significant confusion and disagreement among members of the Pinellas Council and Board Members. There was no consensus and as such, Paul McClintock motioned that the meeting be adjourned until such time as Department of Juvenile Justice legal can provide clarification of issues. The motion was seconded by Martha Lenderman and the meeting was adjourned at 2:20 p.m.. Action or Follow-up The Board is waiting for clarification from Tallahassee as to how to proceed. The next meeting of the Circuit 6 Board is pending and will be announced at a later date. |
