| Minutes 04/27/2006 Chair called the meeting to order at 7:03PM. A quorum was established at 7:05PM. In the absence of the Secretary, Chair Dave Plyer requested that minutes be transcribed by Council Member Carol Schiffler. There were no objections. In the absence of the Parliamentarian, Chair Dave Plyer requested that roll call be recorded by Council Member Cathy Corry. There were no objections. The meeting roster follows: ACTIVE VOTING
MEMBERS:
Election of Officers The nominee for Vice Chair, Matthew Sullivan, was elected on a voice vote with no objections. The nominee for Secretary, Carol Schiffler, was elected on a voice vote with no objections. Council Member Cathy Corry was nominated for Membership Registrar. The nomination was seconded and she was elected on a voice vote with no objections. Approval of Minutes Chair Plyer requested that the reading of the minutes from the Council Meetings of 2/23/2006 and 3/23/2006 be waived. There were no objections and both sets of draft minutes were adopted as submitted. Report from the Chair The Report from the Chair was received and placed on file. New business Council Member Cathy Corry moved that “a website for this Council be established and maintained by the Executive Committee. There was a second and brief remarks. The motion passed on a voice vote. Announcements Council Member Cathy Corry submitted the following comment for the record: In response to this Council’s summon, Jim Coats, as a Circuit 6 Juvenile Justice Board member elected by this Council, has attended the last two meetings of the Circuit Board, on January 30 and April 24. Council Member Bruce Wright submitted the following comment for the record: I would like for the record to state that I have grave concerns about the Circuit Board relinquishing control of the board to the Department of Juvenile Justice. Council Member Cathy Corry requested that the remainder of the meeting be used to discuss Council participation in School Board meeting of May 23 to provide input regarding placing a moratorium on certain types of school arrests.
